Good evening,
We have a new email address that we are using, the one that we have had up until now has just been getting a ridiculous amount of junk mail through per day, sometimes up to 300 emails which I have to sift through to make sure no customers emails are within that, this cannot go on so we will be merging to a new account whilst checking the old account regularly until that becomes redundant.
Further to that, emails I am sending are not always reaching thier destinations, and I fear inward bound ones are also going missing, so its time for a change.
If you have messaged me and I have not replied please get in touch again, there is a chance that it never made it to me.
To avoid a further influx of unwanted emails I will now not advertise my email address on the website, this breaks my heart because I strive to be as accessible as possible to you, please message through the contact form on the website and I will then message back and you will have my new email address.
Please remember that a phone call is always welcome as a first point of contact. I dont always have phone service where I spend parts of my days so if there is no answer please leave a message, or send a text and I will happily call you back.
Thank you all.
Steve.

Our planned winter downtime is coming to an end, by the second week in February we should be back at full steam.
We have just had our first steambending session of the year, and from this week are regularly back in the workshop.
If you have plans to order a tool ready for the growing season, but dont want to pay too soon after the expense of Christmas then get on the list. We require no money upfront when placing an order and when your time comes you can just say hold on a little longer or cancel your order if need be.
In the gardens, I've seen a good few Daffs out, snowdrops outside Kelways in Langport, its all slowly starting to move.
These garden rearranging storms can bugger off whenever they like.
A reminder that this is now the only place for updates from us so please visit again every now and then.

In March we will pass the 5 year mark in business.
What has happened couldnt have been achieved without the input of countless people, organizations, customers and my young family. I will write a piece a little later this year offering my thanks to you all.
The change of business name to Sievewright & Co. has happened as of today, I first showed sign of it a year or so ago, but then went away to decide where I was going and held back on making the change permanent.
Nothing changes in terms of ownership, its still just me working out of my home workshop and that is how things will continue.
Finally I would like to mention Mike Turnock. We lost Mike last year after a long illness, he was always on hand to answer questions when needed, was extremely supportive in asking how things were going and all this without wanting anything in return. I cannot put into words how much we as a family appreciate being welcomed into his and his familes lives.
Thank you Mike.
I wish everybody, friends, customers, suppliers and stockists a happy 2024.
Steve.

Earlier this year we were lucky enough to be asked again by Steve at Creeper & Knotweed to add our work to his wonderful online store.
Creeper & Knotweed stock the largest amount of my work, and it is accompanied by some incredible products for the gardener.
The website is well worth a visit via the link below.

We are moving on from social media.
All the reasons are the same as the commonly known ones along with my quest to find a more real and traditional connection with people.
I spend so much time switched off from tech nowadays, choosing to be in the workshop, on the veg patch, in the greenhouse and keeping bees that I just dont have the time to contribute to an electronic black hole.
This page will become the one and only source of regular updates for us from here forward.
There seems to still be a Facebook page, but who controls it I dont know because all my accounts have been deleted. I assume that will disappear at some point.
(I'll add, somebody said it could be a cloned account).

As Autumn approaches its time for us to go into the hibernation we announced back in the spring.
There is stock out there, We have two active UK stockists, one in New Zealand and one coming in the USA to be announced shortly (See stockists page under 'other' drop down menu).
During this time we will still be in the workshop trickling work out, just at a heavily reduced rate which will continue until early Spring.
There are not many more orders we can take before Christmas this year, If you are reading this from the end of October onwards consider us closed to Christmas orders.
I may if time allows put some stock up, you can find that at the bottom on the Sieves & Riddles drop down menu under 'In stock'. If its not there, then there is no stock.
Please keep a look out for stockist announcements shortly.
I will be taking orders to be placed on a waiting list for next spring.

We are a supporter of the campaign to keep cash.
As a result we are now offering discounts for orders that are paid by cash, this is mainly to cover the cost of your postal costs to get the cash to us in a secure, tracked manner and aimed at those of us that wish to promote the right to have and use the cash in our pockets.
Further to this we are recycling our card machine, and re-evaulating whether we should continue to use anything other than bank transfers for online payments.
If you would like to pay by cash then please ask at the time of ordering. We will be most happy to send your invoice through the post.
